About Meddygfa Furnace Surgery
At Furnace House Surgery, we are proud to be a highly computerised practice both clinically and administratively and are paper-light with extensive use of document scanning.
We also have good access to the local District General Hospital 1 mile away and to Mental Health Services at a Resource Centre half a mile away.

Furnace House Surgery was established over 50 years ago and moved to its present premises in 1985 with extensions built in 1995 and 1998.
We are a large, but friendly practice with a list size of approximately 14,500 working from high quality, spacious, purpose-built premises. We are based in the centre of the pleasant market and county town of Carmarthen, in the picturesque Towy Valley.
Access
Furnace House Surgery has been designed with the disabled in mind. The entrance, appointment desk and consulting rooms are suitable for the access of wheelchairs. There is also a disabled persons toilet and baby changing facilities. A wheelchair is available at the surgery for the use of our patients within the building.
The Practice also has automatic doors and a stair lift for patients use.
We also serve a large surrounding rural area. We are within easy reach of the beautiful West Wales coastline and with excellent road and rail links with the rest of the U.K. and Ireland.
There is good local schooling both through the medium of Welsh and English in the public and private sectors.
There is a thriving sporting environment in Rugby, Cricket and Soccer with a large Leisure Centre with a swimming pool, squash courts, all-weather playing field, tennis courts and running track. There are also plenty of opportunities for golf, fishing and sailing.
We are a highly motivated team with the delivery of high quality service to our patients at the top of our agenda, and we are dedicated to a successful National Health Service
